Rodel is a small settlement in the very south of Isle of Harris. Back in the day, this used to be the capital of Harris and its main port, before Tarbert took on this role. The small village is really picturesque and bursting with green on a sunny summer day. The main attraction in Rodel is St. Clement’s Church, dating back to the 16th-century.

You can reach Rodel in two ways, either from the direction of Leverburgh (by far the most popular route), or by taking the smaller road running along the south-eastern coast of Harris. If you go for the second option, worthwhile stops are Finnsbay (a popular spot for seal spotting) and Sam’s Seafood Shack (often sells out quickly so you need to get the timing right).
